Harbor Inn

In Santa Cruz,

    California

Harbor Inn flowersThe Harbor Inn provides a relaxed ambiance that appeals to the budget minded traveler who prefers a continental country style accommodation over the bland sameness of major chain motels.

The main Harbor Inn building was originally a farmhouse built around the turn of the century and offers accommodations in the contemporary English country inn style. Its open beam ceilings and country decor reflects its rustic past. Each room is unique and comfortably furnished creating a relaxed, casual atmosphere.

Our second building has more contemporary rooms with skylights and kitchenettes to accommodate our guests with special needs or more conventional American tastes.

Harbor Inn garden area

The Inn's Beautiful flower gardens and fruit trees surround the buildings, patio and sun deck.

The rear garden area is well protected from the prevailing coastal winds and provides a warm sunny retreat on days when cool coastal breezes are blowing along the beaches. When the weather is sunny our garden area invites you to linger and renew your spirit among the flowers.

Santa Cruz is located on the North end of California's historic Monterey bay. The city started as an early Spanish mission, grew with Spanish land grant ranchos and became a classic beach resort town in the late 1800s. The famous Santa Cruz boardwalk and amusement park dates from the late 1800s and it's famous Big Dipper roller coaster is one of the oldest in America.

The Santa Cruz area is a center of cultural activity as well as historical significance. Our University of California campus and community college provide many ongoing cultural activities. Our large and thriving artist community along with the famous Santa Cruz mountain wineries combine to provide memorable art and wine festivals.

There is always something for everyone in our area. We have long sparkling beaches, redwood forests, deep sea and steelhead fishing, whale watching, an annual begonia festival with sand castle building competition, an annual antique aircraft fly-in, a narrow gauge steam railroad, international surfing competitions and much, much more to keep you coming back time and time again.
